About YWAM Restenäs

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Restenäs has been a place of encounter, calling, and transformation since it was founded in 1986. Nestled on the beautiful west coast of Sweden near Ljungskile, Restenäs has served as a home for people from all over the world who have come to know God and make Him known.

From the very beginning, Restenäs has carried a strong missionary heritage. Thousands of young people have been trained and sent out from here to serve in nations across the world—sharing the gospel, planting churches, serving the poor, and using creativity to express God’s heart. The legacy of faith, prayer, and obedience to God’s call continues to shape who we are today.

At the heart of Restenäs is a vibrant and diverse international community. We live, work, learn, and worship together—sharing meals, stories, and life with one another. Our daily rhythm includes times of corporate worship, prayer, and fellowship, as well as space for families and individuals to rest and grow.

We believe that community is mission—that how we love one another is a testimony of who Jesus is. Living in community teaches us humility, forgiveness, and joy, and it becomes a training ground for life and mission in the world.

Our Vision

We are in a season of renewal and rebuilding, longing to see Restenäs once again become a thriving missional community—a place where people encounter Jesus deeply, are equipped in truth and love, and are sent out to bring transformation to every sphere of society.

We dream of a community that reflects God’s kingdom:

  • A house of worship and prayer, centered on intimacy with God.

  • A training base, where people are equipped for mission through discipleship and creativity.

  • A sending hub, partnering with churches and ministries across the Nordic nations and beyond.

  • A home, where people of all generations and cultures belong and grow together in love.

At YWAM Restenäs, we believe that Sweden has a key role in God’s global story, and that revival and mission go hand in hand. Our desire is to see a new generation rise up—rooted in the Word, filled with the Spirit, and ready to bring the hope of Jesus to the nations.
